The university community – particularly athletic departments were jolted last week, when a grand jury alleged a retired Penn State coach sexually assaulted young boys on campus.

Several leaders there, including head football coach Joe Paterno, were fired for failing to notify authorities after learning of the alleged assaults.

Peter Isely is with the local chapter of SNAP –Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests. Isely says the Penn State allegations touch on painfully familiar themes.
